Maxwell's House of Books in La Mesa is easily my favorite used bookstore so far, and that is high praise coming from a book junkie such as myself. There is a great selection and I was pleasantly surprised with the reasonable prices after visiting bookstores in trendier neighborhoods. There is a great selection of high quality literature, poetry, history, philosophy, and science books. Mr. Maxwell was friendly and knowledgeable, I plan to spend some real quality time (and money) there.
